Tell us more about yourself:
I am yet to compete in a bodybuilding show but it is definitely something I would like to do in the future. Growing up I took part in martial arts, specifically ju-jitsu, and was awarded 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals as well as my Provincial Colours. I was captain of the athletics team for 2 years and was also awarded Athlete of the Year as well as the Michael Brother’s trophy for bringing credit to the school. I also represented the University of Johannesburg in running. During this time I completed my Bcom Sports Management degree. I also hold a level 1 certificate for Boksmart as well as ASA (Athletics South Africa) and am currently a fitness instructor on a part-time basis. I love every moment of watching people’s lives change.
I am firstly an entrepreneur as I have just launched a business. I love coaching which I’ve been doing for 5 years at my old high school. There I am a high-performance coach/team manager. As previously mentioned, I am a fitness instructor presenting between 5 and 6 classes a week. I also love hiking, camping, fishing, dirt biking and scuba diving. I enjoy doing gymnastics/ callisthenics from time to time and love the gym. I am extremely passionate about health and fitness.
Future Plans in the Fitness Industry:
One of my goals for 2018 is to compete in a bodybuilding competition and to finally show off all my hard work and progress over the years. At the end of 2016, I was in the hospital for 2 weeks where I lost around 10kg. I felt depressed and had to restart from scratch to become bigger, leaner and stronger. My goal is to stay in the fitness industry and turn it into a career. I believe in following your passion and what you love to do. I want to achieve higher levels of excellence and better myself each step of the way as I see fitness as a journey and not a final destination. It would be a dream come true to be featured on the cover of a fitness magazine. My other goal is to open my own boutique gym and turn it into the top fitness establishment in the country.
Why do you think you’ll make a good NPL ambassador?
I feel I would make a great NPL brand ambassador for the following reasons: I want to inspire others to take the time to be fit and healthy. I want people to realise that they can achieve something they never thought was possible and associating with a brand like NPL can help in making that a reality! I have the knowledge of and appreciation for marketing as well as for the health and fitness industry. Through my online presence and engaged network and being an ambassador for NPL I believe a strong relationship can grow and the capabilities are actually endless. I want others to feel part of the family and that they can learn something from a top brand with quality products.
