The attention of the global CrossFit community will turn to Regionals as the next step on the road to the CrossFit Games concludes on Sunday 3 June.
Having started on the 18 May, the fittest athletes and teams to emerge from the Open will compete against the best in their region to earn their place in the Reebok CrossFit Games.
South Africa forms part of the Meridian Regionals, with top athletes like Jason Smith, a 2017 Games competitor, and his brother Richard from CrossFit Kyalami, Ruan Duvenage from CrossFit Arkin, Justin Swart representing Cape CrossFit, and AJ Visser from CrossFit Brackenfell competing against the best athletes from the Middle East and southern Europe.
Local teams flying the South African flag at the global showcase include CrossFit PBM Unite, Cape CrossFit, the False Bay Sharks and CrossFit Valley Road.
CrossFit athletes and fans can watch the action from the final week via the CrossFit Games site.
